Create beautiful translucent colour, soft shading, and atmospheric effects with Rebel™ Veil, a new generation of professional kiln-fired translucent glass enamels developed by Glass eMotions.

Unlike traditional transparent enamels, Rebel Veil is designed to produce soft, diffused colour with exceptional control and consistency. As part of the Rebel™ Tint System, Veil is mixed with Rebel™ Core 00 Clear Base, allowing artists to create everything from delicate washes of colour to rich translucent effects while maintaining excellent workability.

On its own, Rebel Veil is lead-free. When mixed with Rebel™ Core 00, the finished mixture becomes lead-bearing because Core contains lead.

Whether you're creating landscapes, botanical artwork, stained glass style painting, subtle shading, or soft backgrounds, Rebel Veil offers a beautiful balance of softness, luminosity, and colour that perfectly complements the brilliance of Rebel Radiant.

The Rebel™ Tint System

The best translucent results are achieved by mixing Rebel™ Veil with Rebel™ Core 00 Clear Base.

This unique tinting system allows you to precisely control colour intensity—from delicate, whisper-soft tints to rich translucent colour—while maintaining excellent workability.

Typical starting mixtures include:

• 40% Veil / 60% Core – soft translucent colour

• 60% Veil / 40% Core – stronger translucent colour

For even softer, more subtle effects, colour intensity can also be adjusted using Rebel™ Clear Mixing, a lead-free blending enamel similar to Dove Clear Mixing. Clear Mixing fires to a delicate soft white translucent finish, making it ideal for softening colour intensity or creating beautiful soft white translucent effects on its own.

Together, Rebel Veil, Rebel Core 00, and Rebel Clear Mixing provide artists with exceptional control over translucency, saturation, and layering, creating an almost unlimited range of luminous translucent colour effects.
