Materials needed

  • Safety glasses when cutting your glass
  • Respirator or dust mask to be worn when mixing the enamel powder
  • Enamel powder colours from Dove / Rogue Enamel
    • Sun yellow
    • Harvest brown
    • Pure white
    • Golden brown
    • Jet black
  • Dove / Rogue 63/601 water friendly medium
  • Assortment of brushes good quality soft bristles flat brushes in size  6/8 and round brushes in size 8 and a small liner brush size 00000.
  • 1 Cup of water for cleaning brushes.
  • Small plastic containers with lids about 5– size is important, if you only want to mix a tiny bit of enamels, then cups with about a 3cm diameter / 1.18 inches
  • Teaspoon
  • 2 clothes / wipes
  • Pocket Digital scale that can measure in double point digits in gram
  • Kitchen paper towels
  • Round wooden mixing stick
  • Paint palette
  • Silicone or grill mat that is graded to take heat up to 338F / 170C
  • Glass (any COE)
  • A lot of drying of each layer of paint is done using this technique and I recommend that you use a food griddle (that will not be used for food again) to dry each step.  But drying can be done in your kiln too.  I use grill mats to keep my griddle or kiln shelve clean from wet enamel paint.
